SWOT Analysis

The Standardised Axxsys Consulting SWOT analysis is focused on optimising the usage of technology to ensure it services the business needs of the Fund Manager. The analysis will enable the client, to ensure:

  • The technology used is used in an optimal fashion, relative to the current business needs.
  • The investments in technology undertaken by the Fund Managers achieve the expected returns.
  • The internal departments service their internal clients in the best possible way.
  • The internal processes are optimised, to reduce operational risk, and improve STP.
  • The organisation of the departments involved in using and supporting the applications reflects the real needs of the fund manager.
  • The organisation is positioned correctly from a technology perspective for new areas of business

The approach by Axxsys Consulting is to adapt the traditional SWOT analysis (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), to the technology infrastructure of a fund manager. The analysis can be specific around certain products/units within a fund manager or based on the entire infrastructure/organisation of a fund manager.

Axxsys is a delivery based consultancy that focuses on tangible results, which is reflected in our approach to the analysis. As well as documenting the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats in the current infrastructure, we detail recommended actions, their high level cost estimates and the relative benefits.

We break down the action points into results achievable immediately (0-3 months), medium-term (3-6 months), and long-term (6+ months). This enables the client to make informed decisions in terms of prioritising and activating the recommended actions.

The analysis can be conducted in order to produce two different levels of outcome.

The basic Axxsys SWOT analysis will help create a plan, to make sure that the existing technology infrastructure is optimised to handle the client’s current business.

The advanced Axxsys SWOT analysis takes into consideration future business opportunities that the fund manager is considering such as new funds, M&A with other companies, new products that the fund manager is considering offering to their clients etc.

The analysis can be focused on specific technology products in which we have expertise such as SimCorp Dimension, Fidessa LatentZero and Linedata’s Beauchamp, or can be focused on the entire infrastructure.
